DPSN signing off for 2013!

It’s hard to believe that we’ve come to the end of the second year of the new-look DPSN (or now not so ‘new’), and what a year it has been!  At the beginning of 2012 we made some bold changes in an effort to shake things up and keep you engaged, including our launch into the public blogosphere.

2013 has been another successful year.  Our blog has seen over six and a half thousand unique hits, more than triple our traffic in 2012, and we now have over seven hundred people who like our Facebook page.

Some of our most popular independent blogs this year have been Gender schmender: why is one family being criticized for supporting their son?, Angelina Jolie’s boob job makes the news, Get your tits out for breast cancer! and Censored by the census.

This year we also used DPSN to host our very own 100 Days Project: 100 Days of Diversity, where we blogged a photo of one person each day with their answer to the question: “What makes you unique?”

Our daily 100 Days posts recieved some of the highest traffic we’ve had since we started the new blog!  We’re thrilled that 100 Days was so popular, and we hope to be able to do more exciting projects like this on DPSN in the future.  We’d also like to feature any 100 Days Projects (or other blogs) from our followers next year…so if you’re interested in signing up for 100 Days in 2014, or have another great idea for a blog, let us know!

That’s it from us for now this year, we hope you’ve enjoyed our musings on diversity, creativity and social change.  The DPSN team will be taking a much needed break over the summer, but we’ll be active again from February 2014 (when we’ll be mixing things up again!)

In the meantime, we’ll continue to see you on Facebook, or you can contact us any time at barbara@diversitynz.com.  As always, we’ll do our best to get back to you as soon as we can.

Take care and have a happy and safe holiday break.

The DPSN Team – Anna, Barbara and Philip
