Can having an impairment be compared to managing a team?


I don’t know what it is like to be a manager. However, I can tell you what it can be like to have an impairment. So, here are the KPI’s that help me ‘manage my disability’.


Key performance indicators for people with impairments:
  • Understand that no day is the same.
  • Be aware of all possibilities – both positive and negative.
  • Make being prepared and organised a high priority.
  • Be equipped to negotiate, mitigate and resolve conflict.
  • Have an in-depth of knowledge and understanding of all parties.
  • Be able to continue a high standard of performance under pressure.
  • Understand internal and external processes.
I believe these KPI’s ring true to both management and disability, what do you think?
