My dad passed away unexpectedly in September, so I wrote a little poem about my hero.
My hero
Until very recently I knew a man,
he was my hero,
he was my dad.
Until very recently I knew a man,
he was ordered and considered,
he was thoughtful and a teacher.
Until very recently I knew a man,
he was anxious and at times distressed,
he experienced significant mental health challenges.
Until very recently I knew a man,
he looked after me,
he loved me.
Until very recently I knew a man,
he was my hero,
he was my dad.
Forever my hero lives on in my heart.
Forever my dad lives on in my heart.
